I lay in bed
I rest my head
Next to a box
Which loudly scoffs
To my alarm
I turn it off
It tells me, when I am…

So I commence
The day intense
Random events
All in sequence
Wring the hands
Live the sands
Meet demands
According to mans’
Temporal commands…

But now it’s up
It’s out, it’s off
We just don’t have
Of it enough
Though told to take it
We need more
How much is left?
Who knows for sure…

I’ve taken mine
Down off the shelf
And from my wrist
I cleanse myself
I leave it in my
Dresser drawer
It’s powerless
When so ignored

So stop to watch
The coup `de jour
The “You Are There”
History tour
And will it rule me… Evermore…
When I have time
I’ll know for sure.
